Bruce Revel - Interim Pastor
We are currently seeking God's direction for a new pastor. Dr. C. Bruce Revel is currently serving as the interim pastor.
Bruce Revel is a native of Delmarva; he was born and raised on a farm near Millsboro, Delaware. He graduated with honors from Millsboro High School in 1967. He graduated from University of Delaware with a BS/Business Administration in 1972. Following college he worked in management for Acme Markets, a supermarket retailer. Bruce answered God’s call to ministry in 1977 and earned a Master of Divinity degree from Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary in 1981 and a Doctor of Ministry from that school in 1988.
He served as pastor for three years with Kittrell Baptist Church in North Carolina, 14 years as pastor with First Baptist Church, Cambridge, Maryland, and 51/2 years as Senior Pastor with Colesville Baptist Church in Silver Spring, Maryland. He was appointed by the North American Mission Board and called as Director of Missions for Eastern Baptist Association in 2001. He has served on numerous committees for the Baptist Convention of Maryland/Delaware and has been active in community organizations.
He is married to Karen; they have two adult children—Mark and Tara—and three grandsons and a granddaughter. Bruce and Karen live in Delmar, Maryland.
He has published several articles in Baptist national publications; he has written a weekly opinion column in The Daily Banner [Cambridge, Maryland] and The Montgomery Journal [Rockville, Maryland]. He has also had several opinion columns published in The Daily Times [Salisbury, Maryland]. He hopes to publish an historical novel.
